Banijay Benelux

One woman at the top, twelve women in the spotlight: the beginning of a new era at Banijay.

Banijay is home to leading creators of creative content. With approximately 850 talented and ambitious professionals, they create impactful and successful programs daily.

Together with over 130 production companies across 23 countries, they bring stories to life. In October 2025, the company appointed Sandra Hilster as its first female CEO. This marked the beginning of a new era for Banijay, under the leadership of a woman who champions diversity and inclusion.

To celebrate this, Banijay and House of Inclusion joined forces to shine a spotlight on several hardworking women. In the media industry, only 20-30% of jobs are held by women. Because this field is so male-dominated, women often still face underrepresentation, microaggressions, and unconscious bias.

Our approach

To demonstrate that the media world would be much less vibrant without women, we have portrayed twelve talented women from various departments within Banijay. Based on nominations by department heads, we compiled a selection that provides a fair, diverse representation of the female talent within the organization, varying in department, age, and cultural background. All these women have been powerfully depicted and extensively interviewed. This inspiring series went live in March, with the official launch of the campaign on International Women's Day on March 8. Since then, three portraits have been shared weekly, both internally and externally, via a specially designed landing page.

The impact

The impact of this campaign goes far beyond just online visibility. The project puts women front and center in an industry typically dominated by men. This creates new, diverse role models for a new generation of women aspiring to break into the media industry. Moreover, the candid interviews provided a safe platform to discuss complex topics like unconscious bias, both internally and externally. This positions Banijay as an inclusive employer that breaks down barriers. This project was therefore not a one-off PR stunt, but marked the beginning of a more structural focus and attention on female talent within Banijay.
