Triodos Bank eLearning

Without people, there is no movement.

“House of Inclusion's agility and ability to understand the needs of our equity, diversity, and inclusion e-learning project quickly built trust.” - Rachel Parker, Group Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Lead

Triodos Bank is one of the most sustainable banks in the world. This is where money gets meaning, it works for people, the environment and society. An organization that is so aware of the world around it wanted not only the HR department, but everyone in the company to learn how to apply EDI (Equity, Diversity & Inclusion).

There was already a clear EDI (Equity, Diversity & Inclusion) strategy, but they wanted everyone to learn how to apply it. Triodos wanted to go from policy to experience. Not another tick-check mark training, but a learning experience that really affects people. The briefing was clear: create a twenty minute e-learning that appeals to every employee. Short, honest and impactful.

Our approach

We started what Triodos is strong at: creating together. Together with the Learning & Development team and the EDI Group Lead, we built a learning experience that matches their values: aware, people-oriented and innovative. Within three months, there was sustainable e-learning: educational, recognisable and relevant for everyone.

Crystal clear

Storytelling was key. No heavy terms or difficult graphs, but easy-to-understand definitions and familiar situations, reflection questions and real dilemmas, making heavily loaded themes light-hearted, honest and educational. We respond to feelings and that's how the knowledge really sticks.

For everyone

The tone was 100% Triodos: warm, honest and sober. With videos, quiz and reflection questions, and interactive elements, the topic remained lively. Not as an extra module that came with it, but as a natural part of daily work. From management top to workplace.

From policy to experience
Inclusion got a face. The module showed that equality is not just for HR, but for everyone in the bank. Teams translated the content directly into their own practice. In emails, meetings, customer conversations, and collaborations. This is how EDI became part of the day-to-day banking business.

The impact

Triodos believes that every action, no matter how small, sets something in motion. And that is exactly what this collaboration did. The EDI Group Lead (Rachel Parker) about the collaboration: “House of Inclusion's agility and ability to understand the needs of our equity, diversity, and inclusion e-learning project quickly built trust.” The team was proud of the speed, creativity, and how knowledge and fun came together. The e-learning is now live for all employees.

In one move, Triodos now shares the same language about inclusion and awareness. The first signs are clear: this does not feel like a course, but like a cultural movement. Triodos is not only working on a sustainable, but also an inclusive world. Because real change starts from within. This e-learning shows that sustainable banking means investing in your own people.
